With April comes the highly anticipated NAB Show, and we are thrilled to announce that we’ll be showcasing the latest enhancements to our products MIST, ICE, and TORNADO at Booth SL 7034!
We have added new features and lots of enhancement in order to solve our customers major issues: how being more efficient, avoiding manipulation errors, when working with today’s complex technologies.
A Quality Control that makes sense
Experience a comprehensive QC workflow that seamlessly integrates various measures and analyses, master validations, visual QC, and reporting. Gain immediate insights into potential issues within the timeline and image context, and verify with analysis scopes and graphs.
Our QC solutions offer from a single cockpit all the tools to understand and evaluate errors, report them and communicate them in a non-ambiguous way.
Advanced EBU QC end-to-end workflow
MIST and ICE are the first solutions to fully integrate with the EBU-QC system of metrics and definitions for the purpose of creating and exchanging quality control information. It includes a catalog of test definitions rich of more of 350 QC-items, permitting content owners, QC tools and QC operators to refer consistently over time and projects to the same errors and to measure them the same way.
The EBU-QC becomes the back-bone of our Quality Control workflow to define the QC requirements, execute the corresponding tests, and export the results in a non-proprietary form.
About EBU-QC
The EBU-QC group is part of the strategic goals of the EBU and is already a 10 years work achievement, supported by many European broadcasters.
- Existing EBU-QC test profiles XML can be imported by a simple drag&drop
- Thanks to the integration of the QC-Items catalog with their precise codes and descriptions, which can be searched by keywords or tags, test profiles can be created directly in the application and then shared.
- The test results can be exported in EBU-QC Report XML, a non-proprietary format.
The full integration of the EBU-QC system allows an unrivaled flexibility in the creation of QC reports, allowing to mix and merge heterogeneous reports from various automatic QC vendors plus the comments and additions manually reported by the operator into a single consolidated document.
With MIST or ICE Studio, a QC operator can now import a QC requirements list, perform the analysis, have the results displayed in the GRAPH, the frames above the threshold marked in the timeline, displayed as events, and reported in the QC tool page. He can further export the QC report in EBU-QC XML, together with the results of the different analysis in CSV.

New GRAPH capabilities
Our enhanced GRAPH feature allows for more extensive global analysis, exportable as XML or CSV QC reports. Measure loudness, light levels, video levels, PSNR, SSIM, and color difference analysis, and display the errors in the timeline and the QC tool page.
External CSV data like Harding FPA PSE tests results can also be imported and displayed in the GRAPH, for a comprehensive assessment within the timeline context.

Improved QC Markers management
Our enhanced GRAPH feature allows for more extensive global analysis, exportable as XML or CSV QC reports. Measure loudness, light levels, video levels, PSNR, SSIM, and color difference analysis, and display the errors in the timeline and the QC tool page.
External CSV data like Harding FPA PSE tests results can also be imported and displayed in the GRAPH, for a comprehensive assessment within the timeline context.

An enhanced EVENT viewer
The EVENT viewer, originally designed to display the different clips on the timeline in a chronological and simplified view, has been upgraded for displaying a variety of additional “events”: the Dolby Vision metadata, as well as the different beacons supported (SMPTE Markers, Locators, QC Markers) are now available as well.

Delta Map boosted
The Delta Map, permitting the on-the-fly comparison of two different compositions or media, typically a mezzanine master with an encoded deliverable has gain more tools.
In addition to the image difference, we now offer live PSNR, live Color difference (Delta ICTCP), as well a large variety of 3D-Stereo views (anaglyphe modes , stereo interlaced modes, Blend).

Mastering simplified
On the mastering side, our focus has been put on the simplification and the efficiency in creating the different masters and the multiple versions needed to be delivered.
Assemble tool for program layout
Each broadcast deliveries required a specific layout of the program, including bars and tones, specific time code starts, order of content, program markers, blacks, etc. This layout can now be easily created and retrieved using our new Assemble tool.
Any media can now be directly open in a composition matching the required layout.
