ADM/S-ADM in Action at NAB – Next Steps
Geneva, April 10, 2026 – Marquise Technologies is proud to announce having joined the EBU ADM Implementers Group (ADM-IG) as a founding member. Together with other major industry partners we will collaborate on the advancement of the ADM/S-ADM integration of this state-of-the-art broadcast audio technology from production to playout.
Earlier this year, at the EBU’s Production Technology Seminar, ADM-IG partners presented the “ADM Studio Set-up”. This complete ADM/S-ADM broadcast chain includes ADM file creation, MXF wrapping and QC, playback from a playout server, and S-ADM authoring and encoding in both major NGA distribution codecs, AC-4 and MPEG-H.
At NAB, on Fraunhofer’s booth W2343, West Hall, we will showcase how our mastering solution MIST enables and integrates into this reference implementation.
“ADM and S-ADM are becoming fundamental building blocks for next-generation audio workflows. At Marquise Technologies, we are committed to ensuring that these workflows remain interoperable, reliable, smoothly integrated within UHD/HDR and ST2110 environments and ready for real-world deployment.
As pioneers in ADM-based workflows, and with a commercial solution uniquely capable of mastering video together with ADM formats within a single environment, our involvement in the ADM-IG is a natural step. We enable seamless assembly, validation, and delivery of final content across different ecosystems while preserving creative intent” says Laurence Stoll, CEO of Marquise Technologies.
Marquise Technologies will also contribute to the webinars and tutorials ADM-IG organises and participate in the ADM/S-ADM plug-fests to come. Preparations are in progress for the first, “virtual” edition, focusing on interoperability and QC of file-based assets, targeted for May 2026.
What is ADM/S-ADM?
ADM/S-ADM are ITU-R defined standards for file-based (ITU-R BS.2076) and frame-based (ITU-R BS. 2125) object-based audio production. ADM was initiated and developed by public service broadcasters BBC R&D, the former IRT, and Japan’s NHK, under the auspices of the EBU.
ADM is already widely integrated in DAWs and a requirement in various broadcast and streaming specifications for deliverables. Most prominently and at scale, ADM was applied for live broadcasting of the Paris 2024 and Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games by France Télévisions.

About EBU ADM IMPLEMENTERS GROUP – ADM-IG
The ADM-IG was launched as a working group of the European Broadcasting Union EBU in 2026. The group is open to EBU Members, the wider industry and other interested parties. The ADM-IG aims to discuss and develop strategies for a broad implementation of ADM/S-ADM in media production infrastructures and delivery workflows, enabling and ensuring technical interoperability and reliable content exchange. ADM-IG is organised in 4 workstreams, dedicated to Basic & Tools, Files & Templates & QC, Workflows & Interoperability, and ADM Outreach & OP. Apart from regular working calls, ADM-IG also runs webinars and tutorials on ADM. A first ADM/S-ADM plug-fest is planned for Q2 2026.
