MIST first mastering solution to support TSP 2121:2018 IMF Application DPP based on IMF ProRes, permitting immediate adoption of this new delivery format initiated by the DPP and SMPTE to serve the needs of the broadcast and online sector.

Geneva, August 29 2018 – Following the recent publication by SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) of the technical specification TSP 2121:2018 IMF Application DPP (ProRes), Marquise Technologies is proud to announce that its mastering solution MIST has been updated to support this new delivery format.

With the aim to serve specific broadcast and OTT needs for the exchange of IMF (Interoperable Master Format) packages and the preparation of AS-11 X series and AS-11 UK DPP V1.1 Air Masters, IMF Application DPP (ProRes) uses the ProRes 422HQ video codec.

The MIST mastering solution already includes the additional features required in the specification, like the sidecar files that contain the specific metadata for the upcoming AS-11 X1 UHD Air Master delivery specification, as well as the OPL (Output Profile List) defining the process needed to obtain an AS-11 file from the IMF package.

“We have always been pioneers in the support of IMF with the very early integration of advanced capabilities like the OPL or sidecar files. Support for IMF is now becoming an urgent need for the broadcast and online industry and we are very happy to be the first to provide them with these functionalities and our knowledge of IMF workflows” says Laurence Stoll, CEO of Marquise Technologies.

“An unprecedented level of industry collaboration has been involved in the creation of this specification, and DPP Members, including Marquise Technologies, have played a pivotal role in that work”, says Rowan de Pomerai, DPP Head of Delivery & Growth. “In the coming weeks the DPP Test Lab will launch certification for IMF Application DPP (ProRes) compliance, to support implementation across the industry. We are delighted that MIST will be among the first products to be tested.”

Marquise Technologies’ ICE Reference QC Player and TORNADO Transcoding engine will also support IMF Application DPP (ProRes).
